through my art I try to imitate life... but I keep getting it wrong: that's when comedy finds me. trained by masters like philippe gaulier, gytis padegimas, and jessica walker, shaped while wandering this odd planet, I've learned that the best moments happen when you're both in control and surrendering to the chaos of the moment.
from solo shows to ensemble pieces, from stage to screen, and in multiple languages across several countries, my work moves between formats and borders. what ties it all together is a desire to connect —honestly, playfully, chaotically— with the audience, creating something unique and real in each shared moment.
whether it’s a little playful teasing or getting the audience involved through improv, I’m all about creating real moments of connection and pure fun. my performances challenge norms, poke fun at societal expectations, and, above all, celebrate the absurdity of life itself -because honestly, what else is there to do?
wait, you’re still reading? you’re probably riddled with questions at this point, such as how did I develop such majestic acting abilities? how did I grow into my silly face and caricature-like disposition? maybe you're wondering: how come do I fluently speak english, spanish, catalan, italian and french? you’re perhaps still wondering how I ever managed to bring to fruition, my unique brand of humour that’s both playful and thought-provoking —blending physical comedy, clowning and satire, turning everyday situations into something strange and unexpected? well…
I was born in barcelona on a sunny sunday, without any knowledge of it. it was around lunchtime, because from the very beginning, I understood the importance of arriving at the right place at the right time. and what a baby I was!
I started my studies in audiovisual communication at universitat pompeu fabra, with specialisation in screenwriting. at the same time, I’m starting my acting career, studying and performing with pep anton gómez. so, I guess you could say I’m keeping my options open.
I moved my studies to rome at università degli studi roma tre, filming in the epic cinecittà studios. in the meantime, I also studied improvisation theatre with compagnia degli zingari with whom we present «somewhere over the rainbow». one could say I’ve always been improvising a bit.
having finished my studies, I went to russia with sergei ostrenko, where I learned physical theatre and meyerhold’s biomechanics, and performed «romeo and juliet» at anton chekhov’s theatre in taganrog. one could say I’ve always been quite physical.
back to russia for the VII international summer theatre school of the russian federation (стд рф), where I trained with great teachers such as gytis padegimas and ended up performing in a street performance with the talented director dima melkin in his show «low-tech». I became a panda in the streets of moscow.
I arrived in paris to study clowning with philippe gaulier. quoting him, ‘you look like an idiot,’ a trademark I’ve consistently carried through the years. on my way back to spain, I performed in various tours for theatre plays in french, such as «le fantôme de l’opéra» and «dom juan».
I take part in andrea baracco and alessandro preziosi’s production of «le mille e una notte», which was presented at the festival di pesaro. it’s safe to say I added a bit of magic to the night.
together with adrián serna, we present the comedic duet «serna & lechuga», a show about… well, about serna and lechuga. I take part in the impulse theatre festival and decide to travel around the world… and I end up in australia.
finishing my master’s degree in master’s in literary and theatrical creation in the european context, I move to australia, where I start getting cast in ads, but also get trained in random things like surf lifesaving and massage therapy.
moving back to europe, I work at the edinburgh fringe for gilded balloon, get inspired, and head back to barcelona, where I do ads and other things. some of them are pretty funny.
I present my first solo show, «el partido», which will be part of the renowned festival actual four years later. that’s where the expression ‘four more years’ comes from.
I study experimental theatre with jessica walker at laboratorio escuela, where I’ll end up presenting my solo «un pelo andaluz» three years later featured at the III festival el pasillo verde.
the tv channel betevé launches «carácter lechuga», a series I star in and direct. I also make a random appearance in the movie «costa!» by jon karthaus, playing a sleazy french man—probably one of my most elaborate roles—but also, somehow, I appear in the german popular tv show joko & klaas as a birthday clown.
my one-elephant show «elephant in the room» premieres at the reykjavík fringe festival, and since then, it’s toured to the tallinn fringe, gothenburg fringe, finfringe, prague fringe, and edinburgh fringe.
catalan tv channel tv3 casts me in shows like «està passant» and «com si fos ahir», I win a literary prize for my text ‘el abrigo’.
